Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center
Psychiatric Ward, 4th Floor
2075 East Flamingo Road
Las Vegas, NV 89119
You cannot appreciate the horror that you will find in this psychiatric ward unless you see it for yourself.
Kathleen A. Buchanan and Rachael M. Burkhalter have selected this facility for a reason.
Just as the character played by Jack Nicholson in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” patients at this hospital are conditioned.
Few have the wherewithal to survive untouched as did Chief Bromden, played by Will Sampson.
Do NOT believe all of the pretty pictures and marketing hype on this hospital’s website - it’s totally misleading.
False Imprisonment - Elder Abuse - Unauthorized Practice of Law
Rachael Burkhalter accesses the soon-to-be “Ward”s” home and personal documents:
1. Presents a badge
2. Represents herself as an “official”
3. Uses intimidation and threats
4. Immediately seizes financial, medical and other personal records
Burkhalter restricts the family’s access to the “ward” and limits the ward’s ability to communicate with others.
She promptly contacts the ward’s banks, stock brokers, medical providers and freezes all accounts and other assets.
If the ward already has in-home care, Burkhalter fires them and replaces them with her own providers.
Methodically, with the assistance of her providers, Burkhalter demoralizes the ward, creating doubt and confusion.
After the ward is sufficiently insecure, confused and fearful, he/she is forcefully admitted into a psychiatric ward.
While under “psychiatric evaluation” the ward is restrained and administered psychiatric drugs, even under protest.
When family members attempt to assist the ward, Burkhalter incorrectly cites NRS’s to Metro Police.
All of this is performed without legal due process.
